Description

Within a KDE session, before I had an opportunity to configure keyboard layouts within KDE, I opened a konsole and tried to load a dvorak keyboard:

$ loadkeys dvorak
Couldn't get a file descriptor referring to the console

I don't know why, nor how/when to use loadkeys.

apparently, loadkeys should be added to the .bashrc file, so that the keys are loaded when logging in.
