lftp was working last week, but not anymore:

The host had changed SSL certificate (using a different certificate provider). I had to wait that they finished installing. I am not sure but after the change, there may have been a DNS caching problem.
In any case, it's working again, now.

The host said they forgot to configure something on the server, but I don't know what. So they put the old certificate back until they can figure it out.

I don't know what they did, but it works.
