Description
I have a recurring problem with energy saving hard drives: they power off while they are mounted, confusing the operating system. I have to sudo to force an umount and then mount them again.
I had to write a little script to trick the firmware into thinking the drive is in constant use, to as to prevent it from powering down.
Is it a hardware feature that is not supported by the linux kernel?
