Prompted when I installed lubuntu-desktop, I recently changed from kdm to ldm. However, I found out that the config file I had to change (for auto-login) was xdm.conf, which is very confusing.
Generally speaking, how does one find out what desktop environment they currently use?
Which are currently installed?
How to switch from one to the other?

Krytarik provided the right answer:
$ cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager
That's it. Thanks.
I have updated the article accordingly.
